Audi’S Tech To Save You In A Wreck

Over the last few years, many car manufacturers have had two primary goals: making cars more efficient and making them safer.

Focusing on the latter, this post will be exploring some of the work that Audi has been putting into their cars over the last few years to improve the outcome of collisions on today’s roads. With all of this in mind, it should be much easier to feel confident in the car you drive.

Audi Bodies

While it isn’t digital technology, the work that has gone into making the bodywork on an Audi as safe as possible is bordering on monumental. Through extreme crash testing at a range of different speeds, Audi designers have been able to create a system that is unique to each of their vehicles - all working to make sure that everyone stays safe in a collision, whether they are inside or outside of the car. Using a network of crumple zones, stiff chassis, and smart shapes, the latest range of cars are safer than ever. This is before you even think about the computers under the hood.

Audi Pre Sense

Many cars are starting to use automatic braking and collision detection to make driving safer. Audi is certainly working in this area, too, though their offerings are far more sophisticated than others in the same tier. For example, Audi pre sense has the power to learn about a collision before it happens, applying exactly the right level of braking to stop in time, while also keeping the risks of such a maneuver to a minimum. It can even figure out whether or not it is raining.

Audi Piloted Driving

Taking control out of the driver’s hands goes even further, though. While it may not be ready for mainstream release, Audi is putting alot of investment into driverless cars. Their Piloted Driving system is being developed to take away the risk of driving when you are tired, ill, or going through anything else that could impair your safety on the road. The best part is, many of their current vehicles are capable of running this sort of feature and will simply need a firmware update once it rolls out.

Audi Adaptive Restraints

In some cases, all of the technology in the world won’t be enough to stop a collision entirely. When you find yourself in a wreck in an Audi, though, you can feel rest assured that the car is doing everything it can to make things better. The Adaptive Restraint system is designed to deploy airbags and tighten seatbelts in the correct manner to limit the damage caused by a collision as much as possible. This means that even if you are in a very serious accident, you could leave without a bruise.

Every car manufacturer around the world is working on safety measures like these. Whether you want something fast and sporty or prefer a ride that is more practical, there is no need to compromise on keeping yourself in one piece.
